NEW ..A more rustic trip to a small artisan garagiste cellar walking the old bush vine vineyards, explaining how the wines are made in the new micro-bodega and then a BBQ lunch of DOP Requena embutido/meats (cured & seasoned meats/sausages inc. Choriza con Cava, Salchichón, morcilla, longaniza, lomo etc.) with the various red, white & rosado wines of the vineyard . The former winery/house has been restored to offer lunch in the courtyard with new swimming pool to dip your toes and glazed covered veranda dining area . A tranquil village ..a world away from modern life. Chat to the winemaker at leisure over lunch....

Itinerary:
- Pickup at hotel by Mercedes Vito in Valencia 01000hrs with walkabout historic visit to la Villa Requena. OR 1100hrs if omitting Requena town walkabout visit. Other times by enquiry.
- Guided visit with the winemaker of the old bush vines of Bobal, Garnacha, Tardana & some local mixed varieties. Then we enter the bodega and the owner explains the history and how the wine is still made in a natural way practicing organic certified farming and caring for the landscape. Manual pruning, harvesting and using the grapes own autoctonos yeasts with minimal sulphites in the wines. A barrel tasting may be possible .
- A Rustic lunch cooked on "la brasa" (BBQ) DOP Requena Embutido, local fresh pan, local ex. virgin olive oil, olives, almonds + ensalada complimented by the various barrel aged red, rare tardana white and fresh racy rosé wines of the bodega and also my own Martán ltd edition Bobal wines ...more than a tasting of course with 6 quality wines to choose from and ample wine in your glasses! Why not take a dip in the new pool with shower and bathroom facilities on site. Escape the city and sample local wine and savoury fare open air.
- Option to purchase the wines at good prices too.
